Currently, e-Mudhra handles installation of all certificates (Root, CA and your digital certificate) through its Personal utility.

You need to download this utility from www.e-Mudhra.com before you download and install certificates.

If you removed your old copy of Internet Explorer by deleting the application and its directory, you also deleted your Digital Certificate. You need to request for a new Digital Certificate.

If you removed your old copy of Netscape Navigator by deleting your Netscape directory, you also deleted the file that contained the private key associated with your Digital Certificate. Without that private key, you cannot reinstall your Digital Certificate. You need to request for a new Digital Certificate.

A more suitable alternative is to upgrade Navigator with the Netscape installer so that your personal information, including your Digital Certificate and private key are preserved. In the future, you should use this installer when upgrading Navigator.

You can request a Digital Certificate when you register your copy of Navigator, or you can go directly to the Digital Certificate Center.
